The NBA features nothing but the creme of the crop of basketball.
The league has the best athletes, and it’s not easy to make a roster, let alone have a long career.
Of course, that’s not a knock on foreign leagues, as they also feature plenty of talent.
As a matter of fact, some of the best players in the NBA came from overseas, so it’s not like it’s a competition.
Still, NBA players often find it easier to be stars somewhere else, either because of an easier schedule or because they seem to be ahead of the curve.
With that in mind, as many as seven NBA players have taken their talents overseas in the past week or so after failing to find a team in the league, according to NBA insider Keith Smith.
A number of players who played in the NBA last season have signed with overseas teams in the last week or so:
Damian Jones – Zhejiang Chouzhou – China
Xavier Moon – Zenit Saint Petersburg – Russia
Saben Lee – Manisa Buyuksehir Belediye – Turkey
Luka Samanic – Fenerbahce Beko -…

Damian Jones joined Zheijang Chouzhou of the Chinese league, while Xavier Moon joined Russia’s Zenit Saint Petersburgh.
Saben Lee, Luka Samanic, and Jordan Nwora are heading to Turkey to play for Manisa Buyuksehir Belediye, Fenerbahce Beko, and Anadolu Efes, respectively.
D’Moi Hodge will join Aris Midea Thessaloniki in Greece, all while Duane Washington Jr. plays for Serbia’s KK Partizan.
There should be no shame in playing overseas; there are great basketball and competitive leagues all across the globe.
If anything, props to those players for not giving up on their dreams and their careers, and they will have multiple opportunities to showcase their skills and perhaps even make an NBA comeback at some point.
