There was a lot of talk about how the Los Angeles Lakers got so much better with their offseason moves, and how they had closed the gap between them and the Denver Nuggets.
Fast forward to today and the Nuggets continue to dominate, all while the Lakers have vastly regressed from last season.
Darvin Ham’s team is sitting on a 3-5 record and has looked listless more often than not.
As a matter of fact, NBA insider Rachel Nichols pointed out on “Undisputed” that no team in 75+ years of NBA history has had a worse start to games than the Lakers through these first eight games, and it’s obviously hard to win games when you’re always trailing and fighting your way back.

Nichols pointed out that the Lakers are +29 with LeBron James and -87 without him this season, also talking about Anthony Davis.
She stated that Davis has averaged just 49 games per season since arriving in Southern California, so the Lakers should be prepared to have players stepping in and playing when Davis sits out.
The renowned analyst called out the Lakers for their lack of hustle and sense of urgency, which was evident in their 34-point loss to the Houston Rockets on Wednesday.
The Lakers haven’t faced a lot of winning teams, and they’ve looked quite bad, and that’s not encouraging for the future.
They have the worst three-point shooting efficiency in the league through the first eight games of the season, and coach Ham looks exhausted and worn out already.
