The Boston Celtics didn’t need Kristaps Porzingis to win the NBA championship.

That doesn’t mean he didn’t make a positive impact in the locker room, even when he wasn’t on the court.

Porzingis bought in as soon as he arrived in Boston.

He put his head down, did his job, and played his part en route to this championship.

With that in mind, the guys on the Greg & Fauria Show went out of their way to praise him for how he handled this situation.

They noted that he used to be the go-to guy and was once considered to be the next big thing in basketball, praising him for his ability and maturity to adapt and embrace a lesser role.

But more than that, the fact that he put a lot of work to be out there on the floor in Game 5 despite being injured and his team not needing him set the tone for the rest of the team.

They think that Porzingis’ attitude and determination to help were crucial to building and developing a winning culture there, and that he gave his teammates a big emotional boost as well.

Porzingis is a very talented player, and his ability to stretch the floor with his shooting and then protect the rim on the other end of the floor is rare.

Even so, perhaps the most important part about his presence in Boston is that, perhaps for the first time in his career, he’s finally mature and willing to do whatever it takes to help his team win.
