Davante Adams is one of the most talented wide receivers in the NFL, and a long list of teams would line up for his services.

The three-time All-Pro and current Las Vegas Raider has eclipsed the 100-reception mark five times in the last six seasons and twice led the league in touchdown receptions.

What is there not to like?

For one noted NFL observer, the real possibility exists that Adams will not finish the season with the Raiders, and there is a contender’s lineup that he would flourish in.

ESPN analyst Mike Greenberg expressed his belief that Adams could be “on the Jets by Halloween.”

The commentator speculated on New York’s explosiveness with the acquisition of Mike Williams, Garrett Wilson in the lineup, and Aaron Rodgers slinging the football around.

Greenberg noted that bringing in Adams would create “the most dangerous receiving corps in the NFL, and that’s not an exaggeration.”

The host observed the fine receivers in lineups such as the Philadelphia Eagles, the Cincinnati Bengals and “anywhere else.”

Greenberg speculated that if the season reaches mid-October and the Raiders sport a 2-5 or similar record, a change could be forthcoming.

Adams is a highly paid receiver, and if Las Vegas officials determine that the franchise is in a rebuilding mode, they may consider dumping the hefty contract and starting over.

It is noteworthy that Adams thrived when teamed up with Rodgers in Green Bay, and if he were to enter the trade market during the season and the Jets are indeed contenders, New York would be a highly attractive destination.
