The New York Jets made the biggest move of the NFL offseason to land Aaron Rodgers, and the expectations are at an all-time high.
And while a Super Bowl isn’t won in just one game, starting off the season on the right foot will be a must to boost their morale and, more importantly, keep the negative press away from them.
That’s why NFL analyst Willie Colon said on “The Carton Show” that Rodgers needs to be at his absolute best come Week 1, as their matchup versus the Buffalo Bills could have huge implications.
“Aaron Rodgers has to put on his best performance. It’s one of the most pivotal games of the season for the New York Jets.”

This will be the very first time we get to see Rodgers playing for a different franchise, and as much as he has snubbed that narrative, he knows his legacy could be on the line depending on how well he fares in Gotham green.
Divisional games are always complicated, and the AFC East will be a battle all year, so every game counts.
The Bills slightly regressed last season, and Robert Saleh’s team has a defense that’s strong enough to put plenty of pressure on Josh Allen and keep him on his toes for most of the game.
But the Jets’ offensive line has been dreadful in the preseason, and Rodgers seems far from satisfied with that situation right now.
The Jets are an almost-perfect team with more than enough resources to get the job done.
But NYC’s media is ruthless, and mounting pressure could derail a once-promising season in the blink of an eye.
