After a strong start to the 2023 NFL season, the Philadelphia Eagles are suddenly crashing and it hasn’t been pretty.

The Eagles have now lost three consecutive games, this time to the Seattle Seahawks on Monday Night Football.

Perhaps the regression was inevitable as Philadelphia has dealt with a new system on both sides of the field plus injuries to key players.

After losing to the Seahawks, the Eagles fell in the standings and no longer have a first-round bye in the 2023 NFL Playoffs.

When analyzing the roster, it’s clear that Philadephia isn’t quite as talented as last year’s team version.

Emmanuel Acho ran through each position group and noted how only a few players have been as good as their previous selves via NBC Sports Philadelphia.

“What position group is better this year than last year’s Eagles team?” Acho questioned.

Acho starts with the quarterback position where he thinks Jalen Hurts has taken a step back from last season.

He then goes through the offense and makes a note for each group, emphatically saying that the offensive line has started to drop off.

Acho was even more critical of the defensive groupings as he believes the defensive line, linebackers, and secondary have all taken a nose dive.

It’s not necessarily the best explanation for why the Eagles have looked so poor this season, but Acho does have a point about the talent and depth not being what it once was.

Philadelphia remains a playoff threat, but it’s got to pull itself together before the end of the regular season
