Dynasties die hard.
Building an epic franchise is a complex and usually impossible task, as everyone is trying, and so few succeed.
So, for a team to have sustained success such as the Golden State Warriors enjoyed is rarified air indeed, but as all things end, the period of domination is apparently over.
The successful era took root 15 years ago when the team wisely selected Stephen Curry out of Davidson as the seventh overall selection in the 2009 NBA draft.
Over the years, he and the Warriors enjoyed an incredible run as his talents were complimented by a long list of stars who propelled the team to four NBA titles and a true dynasty.
But those days appear to be over, and one analyst made a valid point about the current condition of the roster.
Daryl “The Guru” Johnson told 95.7 The Game that tough times are ahead for Golden State “if you can’t name the second-best player on the Warriors.”
Johnson asked if it is even possible to look at the current roster and imagine “playoffs.”
“If you can’t name the second best player on the Warriors, how the hell can you look at this roster and say, ‘playoffs?!'”

One of the Warriors’ mainstays and Curry’s scoring partner, Klay Thompson, recently rode out of town for greener pastures in Dallas, yet another nail in the dynasty’s coffin.
Kevin Durant now looks to bring an NBA title to Phoenix, and Draymond Green still contributes but is not the player he once was.
Naming the second-best Warrior, as Johnson noted, would prove difficult, yet another sign that the championship window has all but closed and the league’s latest dynasty is no more.
