Analyst Reveals Clippers’ Thoughts On The James Harden Saga

The Philadelphia 76ers could be set up for a major disaster.

James Harden doesn’t want to be there, and that only means trouble for a team that has failed to live up to the hype for the better part of the last decade.

Harden wants to leave and play for the Los Angeles Clippers.

He’s made it clear that he feels betrayed and lied to by Daryl Morey, and while he won’t hold out and leave money on the table, he’s reportedly set to make life miserable within the organization until he gets his wish.

That’s why the Clippers seem to be in no rush to submit a bid for the former MVP, according to NBA insider Marc J. Spears.

Marc J. Spears: “From what I’m being told about the Clippers is they’re not being desperate [about James Harden]. They feel like they’re going to keep watching this fire burn.”

Per Spears, the Clippers are, in fact, interested in getting Harden, but they’re willing to “keep watching this fire burn.”

That’s exactly what they should do.

Morey has always been a very difficult guy to deal with, especially when it comes to Harden.

He often overvalues his assets and is unwilling to meet anyone in the middle, and there’s simply no incentive to trade for an aging, injury-prone, unreliable, and disgruntled player at a steep price.

The Clippers are wisely taking this wait-and-see approach, as there’s a chance Harden wears out the Sixers so much that they don’t have another choice but to cut him loose.

They could get him at a discount — or perhaps at his actual trade value — instead of giving up a lot of assets to get him.
