The Boston Celtics are tied for the most championships in NBA history.
However, they’ve only won two rings since 1986, which is crazy to think for a franchise of that caliber.
Moreover, it’s been 16 years since the last time they hung a banner in the rafters, and the clock is starting to tick on their young stars.
That’s why NBA analyst Alan Hahn believes the only way Jayson Tatum will be able to shut down all the noise and cement his legacy will be to win a ring in Boston.
Talking on ESPN’s “Get Up,” he claimed that once a player wins a title for the Celtics as the “lead dog,” his legacy is sealed, similar to what happens with teams like the New York Yankees.

Truth be told, it’s unfair to hold players to different standards depending on where they play, but that’s just the way things go.
Even though the Celtics haven’t been a powerhouse in four decades in terms of winning titles, that’s just the expectation that comes with playing for that franchise.
Therefore, Tatum, an elite talent and a homegrown player, has to carry that burden and live up to those expectations.
Professional athletes make fortunes and are some of the most beloved and respected people on Earth, but that also comes with hefty responsibilities.
That’s just one of the many reasons why the job isn’t for everybody, and while we can all agree that Tatum is a much better player than his critics give him credit for, he just has to follow through on his end of the deal now.
