Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones claimed that the team would go “all-in” this offseason.

He said that shortly after announcing that he wouldn’t fire HC Mike McCarthy, so some fans took offense at those comments.

Fast forward to today, and they could still live up to those words, but they need to be very aggressive as soon as free agency starts.

Considering that, NFL analyst Craig Carton claimed that the NFC East is a “two-horse race,” adding that the New York Giants and Washington Commanders don’t stand a chance to compete (via The Carton Show).

That’s why he thinks the only way people will buy in on that all-in narrative will be by making a run at Saquon Barkley.

He claimed that the Philadelphia Eagles could get him if Dallas failed to get him, which would obviously shift the scale in favor of Nick Sirianni’s team.

Barkley has given the Cowboys plenty of trouble since he entered the league, and having him stay in the division with a much better team would be s nightmare for Mike McCarthy’s side.

The Cowboys could certainly use an improvement at the running back position, as Tony Pollard failed to live up to the hype as their bell-cow back.

Barkley will always come with plenty of injury concerns, and Jerry Jones would most likely put plenty of pressure on him with his weekly radio appearances and out-of-pocket comments.

But this move makes too much sense for both parties, especially to keep him away from their divisional rivals.
