The Philadelphia 76ers found themselves in a predicament during the offseason.
James Harden has been outspoken about his opinion of the 76ers’ owner and has been away from the team as a result.
His status is unknown for the 76ers’ upcoming season opener, which has thrown the team for a loop.
However, while Harden might be an unknown variable for the 76ers, fans have taken solace in the fact that Joel Embiid is the franchise cornerstone who is not going anywhere.
So they thought, anyhow.
According to 76ers reporter Keith Pompey via Legion Hoops, the 76ers have recently received a trade package for Embiid from the New York Knicks.
REPORT: The Knicks are willing to offer a trade package surrounding Julius Randle, R.J. Barrett, Evan Fournier, Mitchell Robinson and two or three first-round picks in return for Joel Embiid.

As this report indicates, the Knicks are prepared to pay a hefty price to get Embiid on their roster.
The potential package includes several first-round picks, Julius Randle, R.J. Barrett, Evan Fournier, and Mitchell Robinson.
Whether the 76ers would consider trading Embiid remains to be seen.
If Embiid is on the table, it would be a sign that the 76ers’ “process” is over.
Harden was the newest figurehead of hope for this roster, but with him still away from the team, that experiment has not worked.
How will the 76ers navigate this proposed trade with the regular season nearly here?
