USA Basketball got some of the best American players in the NBA to make sure to bring home the gold medal.

This team is as deep as it could get, but with all the talent we have in the league nowadays, it seems like someone will always be snubbed.

More than that, one could argue that one player could’ve been a better fit over another one.

That seems to be the case with John Fanta.

Talking on The Carton Show, the renowned analyst made a case for the team missing Jalen Brunson ‘in a big way.’

Fanta argued that Brunson was a leader, a winner, and a game manager, and even though he hasn’t won an NBA championship yet, he’s the kind of player Team USA needs.

Truth be told, one could make a case for him being a better player and a better fit for this team than, say, Tyrese Haliburton.

Then again, he finished the season with a fractured hand, and Team USA may have felt a different way about him.

Also, it’s not like this team is missing a game-managing leader and winner at the point guard position, as they have Stephen Curry, one of the greatest players to ever lace them up.

At the end of the day, everybody’s entitled to their opinion, and Brunson did more than enough to get the nod for Team USA.

Still, there are only so many roster spots, and it’s hard to argue with any of the players USA Basketball called up for this tournament.
