The Baltimore Ravens have a big task ahead of them on Thursday night.
Even though this is just the first game of the regular season, they cannot afford to drop back-to-back games to the same opponent.
The Kansas City Chiefs got the best of them in the AFC Championship Game, once again fueling questions about whether Lamar Jackson can beat winning teams when it matters the most.
With that in mind, NFL analyst Greg Cosell shared his thoughts on Jackson and why he’s struggled vs. the Chiefs in the past.

In his latest appearance on The Ross Tucker podcast, Cosell explained that Jackson isn’t at his best when he’s facing pressure, and Steve Spagnuolo will never shy away from being uber-aggressive in that regard.
Spagnuolo will continuously look to rush Jackson and keep him on his toes, and he’s not as efficient when that’s the case.
Nonetheless, he also acknowledged that CB L’Jarius Sneed was a big part of their pressure coverage last season, so he’s curious to see how the Chiefs’ defensive coordinator is going to make up for his absence in the season opener.
The Chiefs are the reigning back-to-back champions, and while their defense took a big hit by losing Sneed, they still have more than enough resources to keep their opponents against the wall on defense.
Jackson needs to make a statement tonight.
Otherwise, the narrative and all the talk around him to start the season won’t be what one would usually hear from a reigning MVP.
