The Los Angeles Lakers haven’t had an ideal 2023-24 NBA season.
Yet there are many flaws that the Lakers can correct in order to make a comeback in the remaining games of the season.
However, many fans and analysts believe these issues for the Lakers stem from their head coach Darvin Ham’s lack of good strategies for the team.
A perfect example of this is none other than starting Taurean Prince in all 47 games that the veteran has played so far this season.
Many fans have expressed their concern about Ham’s favoritism toward Prince, and NBA analyst Jason Timpf recently ripped the sophomore head coach for just that, via The Volume on Twitter.
“It is legitimately one of the worst consistent coaching decisions I’ve seen made in a very long time,” Timpf said.

Timpf pointed out that Prince has started more than twice as many games as he did in his last three seasons combined in the league.
Moreover, Prince’s numbers do not even jump off the box score.
Prince has averaged 9.6 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game for the Lakers in the 2023-24 NBA season.
Coming back to Timpf’s comments, the NBA analyst labeled Ham’s usage of Prince as one of the worst consistent coaching decisions in the league right now.
Timpf’s evaluation of Ham’s coaching doesn’t come as a surprise.
At the end of the day, fans cannot blame Prince for not putting up adequate numbers since he is not used to being a starter over the past few years of his career.
