The Phoenix Suns were the biggest disappointment in the NBA this season.
They couldn’t win a single playoff game and, in all honesty, they weren’t even close to doing it.
That’s why ESPN analyst Zach Lowe wasn’t particularly satisfied with Mat Ishbia’s statement about the team.
Talking on Get Up, Lowe called out the Suns owner for trying to make it seem as if they were just one minor tweak away from being a championship team, which they clearly aren’t.
Ishbia claimed that the narrative about the team being in a disastrous situation was overblown, adding that they were actually just fine.
“Everything is not fine in Phoenix. It’s not a tweak away from anything.”

However, that’s hard to believe.
The Suns are in no control of their destiny in the NBA Draft, and the new CBA will make it very difficult for them to keep the band together, let alone add more talent around their players.
Bradley Beal was never a good fit for this team, and they would’ve been better off with Chris Paul, as they could’ve used the final year of his contract to trade him, or they would’ve at least had a true point guard on the floor.
Now, they’re stuck with a player who’s no longer a star, who can’t stay healthy, and who’s about to make $150+ million and has a no-trade clause in his contract.
That’s a disastrous situation, regardless of what Ishbia says.
