The Atlanta Hawks could go through some major changes in the offseason.
Despite barely missing the playoffs, they beat the odds to win the NBA Draft lottery.
And while this is one of the weakest classes we’ve seen in recent history, there could still be some value at the top.
So, with them most likely taking French big man Alex Sarr with the No. 1 pick, Clint Capela could be the odd man out.
That’s why Forbes insider Evan Sidery believes he’s a likely trade candidate, especially considering his contract situation.
With the Hawks likely to select Alex Sarr at No. 1 overall, Clint Capela becomes a probable trade candidate this offseason.
Capela is on a $22.3 million expiring contract after averaging 11.5 points, 10.6 rebounds and 1.5 blocks.
For interested teams, it won’t be too costly. pic.twitter.com/jFtl4QNF3t

Capela is set to make $22.3 million next season.
He’s in the final year of his contract and is coming off averaging a double-double with 11.5 points, 10.6 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks per game.
Capela is known for being a solid rim protector.
He’s a solid finisher above the rim and a great pick-and-roll player on both ends of the floor.
Multiple teams could be in the mix for an experienced big on an expiring contract, so it shouldn’t be difficult for the Hawks to find potential suitors for him.
Also, with either Trae Young or Dejounte Murray also likely to be on the trading block, the Hawks’ rebuild might finally be upon us.
