The NBA In-Season Tournament is nearing its conclusion and the championship game will feature the Los Angeles Lakers and Indiana Pacers.
The Lakers punched their ticket to the final round after dominating the New Orleans Pelicans in the semifinals.
New Orleans actually threatened to come back in the game, but Los Angeles quickly stamped out any hopes of them winning with an avalanche in the third quarter.
LeBron James had his best game of the tournament as he dropped 30 points in 23 minutes of action, an absurd performance from the oldest player in the league,
James has turned back the clock during the 2023-24 season and is the main reason why Los Angeles is favored to win the first-ever NBA Cup.
There was some initial skepticism about the In-Season Tournament among fans and media, but Brian Windhorst believes that James taking it seriously has flipped the script on that narrative via the Ringer.
“[LeBron] is basically setting the tone for the entire NBA that this In-Season Tournament matters,” Windhorst said.

NBA Commissioner Adam Silver has been eager to find ways to spice up the regular season and he looks like a genius now given how exciting and dramatic the games have been.
However, Silver should also be thankful that someone like James is giving it his all and delivering amazing performances to drum up interest among fans.
It’s not a secret that anything James does will get attention, and right now his level of play has the league and fans excited to see if he can carry the Lakers to a different sort of championship.
