In the early stages of his time in the league, it seemed like Deshaun Watson would be an NFL superstar throughout his career.
He helped bring the Houston Texans to the playoffs in 2018 and 2019 and led the league in passing yards in 2020.
Things were looking promising for Watson heading into the 2021 season, but due to his off-field issues and allegations, he didn’t play for the entire year.
When it started to look like Watson’s off-field issues were getting resolved, the Cleveland Browns came in and traded for Watson, also signing him to a five-year, fully guaranteed $230 million contract.
Due to suspension and injury issues, Watson has only started 12 games for the Browns in two years.
He was a superstar at one time, but he hasn’t looked like it in his last 12 starts.
With Watson’s recent performances in mind, Damien Woody had a lot to say about him in a segment of the NFL on ESPN.
“He’s the biggest unknown player that we might have in the National Football League right now,” Woody said.

Watson hasn’t exactly shown the Browns that he was worthy of this massive investment, but the rubber is going to hit the road in 2024.
The Browns are hoping to get back on track as an organization, and Watson could be the player to help them get there, assuming he stays healthy.
He might have had his fair share of issues over the past few seasons, but if he can find that gear he was able to unlock in Houston, there’s no telling what the Browns’ ceiling could be moving forward.
