James Harden’s time with the Philadelphia 76ers is coming to an end as the former All-Star guard has made it known that he would prefer to be traded.
Although Harden reported to training camp, he has maintained his desire to leave the 76ers after the team decided not to extend him to a lucrative deal.
The veteran opted in the final year of his contract and immediately asked out, naming the Los Angeles Clippers as his preferred destination.
So far, Los Angeles has tried to engage Philadelphia in trade talks but the latter has been resistant to any potential trade so far.
Daryl Morey has been adamant that he’s comfortable allowing Harden to continue playing for the 76ers until the right deal materializes, but it doesn’t feel like teams are lining up to offer a decent trade package.
The Clippers do have a package of picks and expiring contracts to offer, but Morey is reportedly not biting on it via Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer.
The Clippers have offered the Sixers a 1st round pick, a draft-pick swap, and expiring contracts for James Harden, per @PompeyOnSixers.

Morey’s goal is to turn Harden into several draft picks or a young blue-chip prospect, two things Los Angeles can’t offer currently.
Just like the Ben Simmons saga a few years ago, Morey will continue to work the market until he gets what he wants.
As for Harden, he’s got no real choice but to hope that either the Clippers or another team steps up their offer so he can finally get his fresh start.
Philadelphia remains a talented team on paper, but the Harden dilemma will loom into the regular season.
