Preseason football is like the mediocre little appetizer fans get before the main course of the regular season, but with teams opting to sit their starters more and more often during the preseason, fans have little to look forward to during these games aside from following a few fun rookies.

One analyst believes that one rookie from this stacked quarterback class “played a little fast” in his preseason debut.

Greg Cosell had some light criticism of Denver Broncos rookie quarterback Bo Nix after his impressive debut in a 34-30 win against the Indianapolis Colts, saying “I thought Bo Nix played a little fast…very quick to break down in the pocket.”

Cosell added that he’s sure Payton will work with Nix on this issue due to the importance of working through progressions, and said “Offensive linemen don’t like that at all when the quarterback moves when he doesn’t need to move.”

He also stressed this isn’t a big deal and that it’s not a knock on Bo Nix, noting that you actually want to see things that need to be worked on at this stage of the development process.

This isn’t a completely new criticism of Nix, as he played behind a subpar offensive line during his time in college at Auburn before transferring to Oregon, so it’s possible he still has happy feet due to having to scramble for his life from SEC defenses.

The Broncos’ offensive line gave up 52 sacks last season, and if this offense is going to improve, it has to do a better job protecting Nix or whoever else is under center.
