After another disappointing NFL season last year, the Washington Commanders were ready to clean house in a big way, with the team now under new ownership that wants to right the ship in the nation’s capital and turn this storied franchise back into a winner.

Fortunately for the Commanders, the team owned the No. 2 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, where the team was expected to bring in a quarterback, with quite a few talented players coming out of the college game to choose from.

The Commanders were unable to acquire Caleb Williams, as the Chicago Bears did not let the USC product pass them by with the top pick in the draft.

However, Washington was able to bring in a very talented quarterback, reigning Heisman Trophy winner Jayden Daniels, formerly of LSU.

Although Daniels came with some concerns, namely his size and style of play that could put him in harm’s way more often than not, there’s no doubting his talent, and now it seems he excels in throwing the deep ball, according to John Middlekauff of The Volume.

“His deep ball accuracy is elite,” Middlekauff said.

Daniels will be among the talented rookie quarterbacks that everyone will be keeping an eye on during the upcoming 2024 NFL season, as he could be a game-changer for the Commanders and precisely what is needed for this team to be a playoff team in the NFC.

Only time will tell how things will pan out for the Commanders, but as of right now, Washington seems to be in a good position to make some noise in 2024.
