After falling short to the Los Angeles Lakers in the second round of the NBA playoffs, the Golden State Warriors were determined to shake things up during this NBA season, and that’s precisely what they did.

Although it seemed like there was a lot of potential for things falling apart in San Francisco this summer, with longtime general manager Bob Myers leaving and Draymond Green potentially flirting with other offers in NBA free agency, the Warriors were able to keep it together while trading Jordan Poole to the Washington Wizards for veteran point guard Chris Paul.

Even though this is a questionable move for the Warriors, considering that Paul has always played a different style, if any team can make it work, it is Golden State, especially with head coach Steve Kerr still running the show on the sideline.

Interestingly enough, ESPN’s Bobby Marks doesn’t believe it will be Paul that will be the X-factor on this team next season, as he thinks it will be Klay Thompson.

It hasn’t been an easy road to recovery for Thompson ever since he dealt with back-to-back season-ending injuries a few years ago, as he clearly hasn’t been the same defensively and has lost a bit of athleticism while also taking a hit in the shooting department.

However, Marks believes Thompson is starting to get his lift back.

Although Thompson might be in for a bounce-back season and could be an X-factor for this team, it could quickly go in the other direction as well, as he’s not getting any younger and looked terrible during the playoffs, as his trademark shooting wasn’t there.
