Damian Lillard has finally let the Portland Trail Blazers know that he wants to be traded.
And as much respect as they have for him, they don’t plan to do him any favors.
He’s reportedly told them that he wants to be traded to the Miami Heat, but the Blazers will only take the better deal for them and their future.
With that in mind, NBA analyst Alan Hahn believes the Philadelphia 76ers are incurring ‘franchise malpractice’ by stating that Tyrese Maxey is off the table in any potential trade.

Per Hahn, the Sixers’ title window is small and might only be open for one or two years, so no one should be untradeable except for Joel Embiid.
Hahn added that trading for Lillard would be a ‘golden ticket to the NBA Finals,’ citing that they would be trading for a superstar, so there should be no internal talks about anyone being off the table.
He also talked about all the rumbling and rumors surrounding Embiid and some alleged discontent with the organization, which is why they need to do this deal now.
Notably, the Sixers could potentially make a more appealing offer than the Heat, whose better trade asset right now would be Tyler Herro.
Lillard doesn’t have a no-trade clause, and he’ll be under contract for the next four years.
And while publically requesting a trade should lower his value, the Blazers should be in no rush to make a move, especially considering they could just force him to sit and give Scoot Henderson the keys to the offense.
