The Miami Dolphins started the year as one of the NFL’s hottest teams.
They won five of their first six games, seemingly on their way to running through the rest of the season.
However, they have since fallen, now holding a record of 9-4, and are coming off of a late-game collapse against the Tennessee Titans.
In a recent segment of his show, Craig Carton said, with this in mind, “The Dolphins are in trouble.”
Are the #Dolphins on the verge of a winter collapse?
“This year’s collapse is already going to cost them the #1 seed. It could cost them the division as well. The Dolphins are in trouble.” — @craigcartonlive pic.twitter.com/5J9aK5mSTA

He believes their latest loss put them out of contention for the No. 1 seed in the AFC and could also cause them to lose the division.
They had a hearty lead on the Buffalo Bills early in the year, but with a recent surge, they are only two games back with four to play.
The AFC East race could come down to the last game of the season.
With the Dolphins having one of the most demanding remaining schedules, their road forward will be more difficult than most.
Their last four games of the season are against the New York Jets, Dallas Cowboys, and Baltimore Ravens, ending the year with a game against the Bills.
There is a good chance that this game could decide who wins the division, especially if the Dolphins keep losing.
It will be interesting to see how everything shakes out in the AFC, given how close all of the top teams are, record-wise.
Tyreek Hill got injured in the Dolphins’ loss to the Titans, which could be a massive game changer for the rest of the season.
