Analyst Says AFC East HC Could Be On The Hot Seat

The New York Jets were already thinking about banners and parades.

But losing Aaron Rodgers just four plays into the season changed all those plans.

If anything, they should give HC Robert Saleh plenty of credit for still having this team playing .500 football.

And while that wasn’t the expectation, there’s only so much you can do with a subpar quarterback and a depleted offensive line.

That’s why NFL analyst Craig Carton doesn’t believe Saleh should be on the hot seat right now, as he’s performed according to the team he has on his hands.

“I give Robert Saleh a lot of credit, but right now it’s redundant, it’s tired, it’s old, it’s not cute, and I think he’s on the hot seat.”

The same goes for former NFL star Victor Cruz, who stated it’s not Saleh’s fault that Rodgers got hurt four plays into the season.

However, Willie Colon disagrees and believes that Saleh is, in fact, on the hot seat, mostly because the Jets haven’t improved from last season.

Granted that a lot of that has had to do with Zach Wilson’s never-ending struggles, but when you play for a playoff-hopeful organization and in a market like New York City, it just doesn’t matter, you have to get the results (Via The Carton Show).

At the end of the day, it’s hard to judge this Jets team under these circumstances.

If anything, most of the blame should be placed on the front office for not having a Plan B at the quarterback position and then failing to address their evident need for a better quarterback as soon as Rodgers fell with a season-ending injury, and that’s not on the coach.
