The Los Angeles Lakers used their No. 55 pick on Bronny James.
It made sense.
He was LeBron James’ son, so they would keep him happy, and while he didn’t look like an NBA player during his days in high school and college, it’s hard to think of a better low-risk/high-reward player than him.
However, what was once a heartwarming story has turned out to be a bit of a nightmare.
Plenty of people took offense at the way Rich Paul and Klutch Sports dealt with this situation, and it seems like plenty of people have jumped right off the Bronny bandwagon.
Recently, NBA analyst Julian Edlow went as far as to call him the worst player in the Summer League (via GoJo and Golic).
“I don’t think Bronny is a pro”

Truth be told, judging by the numbers alone, he might have a point.
The Summer League is meaningless and numbers shouldn’t mean that much.
Nonetheless, the eye test has been even more brutal.
He’s air-balled shots, taken bad shots, gotten crossed up, and has looked lost and out of sorts out there.
He’s quite young and could turn out to be a serviceable role player, but it is obvious that he needs work.
Ironically, it seems like James’ camp didn’t do Bronny any favors.
And the worst part about this is that he didn’t even sign a two-way contract so he would spend most of the time with the G-League team, meaning that they gave him a guaranteed roster spot not to play.
