The Chicago Bulls seem to be a team headed in the wrong direction during this 2023-24 NBA season, with Zach LaVine and company seemingly going nowhere, with the potential of the franchise blowing things up being a realistic possibility ahead of the NBA trade deadline in February.
If the Bulls brass do decide to shake things up by trading some of their best players, moving LaVine will definitely be something the team considers, even though that might be a difficult prospect because of the size of his contract.
DeMar DeRozan is also a player who could be on the move before February’s deadline, as he has one of the more movable contracts in the league for a star of his caliber.
With the Los Angeles Lakers looking like they may be a piece short of winning a championship, Rob Pelinka and company could pick up the phone and call the Bulls about making a deal.
Although DeRozan seems to be the ideal piece for Los Angeles, especially with his ties to the city and playing for USC while also growing up a massive Kobe Bryant fan, LaVine is the third star that the Lakers need, according to ESPN’s Mike Wilbon, via NBA on ESPN.

Even though LaVine is an intriguing option as a second or third-best player on a championship-caliber team, the Lakers might find it difficult to trade for him due to his large contract.
It’ll be interesting to see what happens with these two teams moving forward, as there could very well be some fireworks before the trade deadline.
