Analyst Says Chris Paul And Warriors Are An ‘Awful Fit’

The Golden State Warriors made one of the most bizarre trades in recent NBA history.

They moved Jordan Poole’s massive contract shortly after vowing that they wanted him around for years to come, and they brought Chris Paul in return.

From a financial standpoint, this move gives the Warriors more flexibility to lock Draymond Green and Klay Thompson for the future.

But basketball-wise, this move doesn’t make a lot of sense.

“Dan I can’t figure that one out. That is an absolutely awful fit to me.”

That’s why NBA analyst Seth Greenberg told Dan Patrick that this was just ‘an awful fit’ and he couldn’t quite figure out what they wanted to do here.

Obviously, the Warriors are committed to Draymond Green, so having Poole on the roster could’ve been a conflict.

Moreover, Poole’s attitude toward the end of the season wasn’t exactly positive, and he made it more than clear that he didn’t want to listen to his veterans or even his coach.

Trading Poole made a lot of sense for many reasons, but the return they got was somewhat puzzling.

Will Chris Paul be willing to come off the bench for Steve Kerr?

If so, how would he fit with their offense?

Perhaps he could serve in the same role as Shaun Livingston did in the early stages of the dynasty, a defensive-specialist that made the most of his damage from mid-range.

There’s still a chance that they flip him at some point in the season.

But for now, it seems like no one knows for sure what the Warriors are actually up to.
