The Dallas Cowboys entered the season looking like a contender, even though some were still skeptical.
Seven weeks have gone by, and the jury is still out on Mike McCarthy’s team, as they’ve looked great at times but not so good at others.
With that in mind, Chris “Mad Dog” Russo believes it’s time Jerry Jones makes a league-altering move to edge his team closer to the Super Bowl, which is why he urged Jones to trade for Derrick Henry (via First Take).

The often-controversial Russo explained that the Tennessee Titans might make Henry available, and while he may not the player he was years ago, he’s still very capable of putting up big numbers.
Russo believes that Tony Pollard is a great change-of-pace back and could and should still have a featured role in the Cowboys’ offense, but he’s not a downhill running back like Henry, who can handle 20-25 touches per game and anchor 4+ minute drives.
Pollard has done an okay job as the Cowboys’ featured back, but he hasn’t been a superstar by any means.
We already know Dak Prescott has struggled when asked to lead the team, so he needs as much help as he can get from the running game.
The Cowboys have the assets and the money to acquire Henry, and it doesn’t appear that the Titans are going to be a contender this season.
Even so, Jones has been unwilling to make this kind of big-name move for the better part of his tenure in charge of the organization.
