The Philadelphia 76ers and James Harden clearly aren’t on the same page right now.

The former star wants to leave the team by any means necessary, while GM Daryl Morey is reportedly willing to get him to stay at all costs.

That may not be in the team’s best interests.

For starters, Harden has already proved that he can make things very uncomfortable when he wants to force his way out of a place.

Also, a report by Ramona Shelbourne states that former coach Doc Rivers and some of the players didn’t care for the fact that Harden was allowed to travel separately to Miami to enjoy the city’s nightlife before a game (via NBA Central)

Sixers players and Doc Rivers apparently had an issue with James Harden enjoying the Miami nightlife before a game, per @ramonashelburne

While it’s not unusual for stars to travel on their own — and definitely not for Harden — the reasons behind that decision didn’t sit with some of his teammates well.

Harden has often been criticized for his seemingly poor work ethic.

He usually arrives in training camp out of shape and is constantly partying, regardless of the instance of the season.

He was even given permission to go to Las Vegas in the middle of the playoffs, and the outcome has always been the same.

Harden has had more superstar teammates than most NBA stars and no championships to show for that, and his apparent disinterest in staying in shape and focusing on basketball has been a recurring issue.

At this point, it doesn’t seem like a lot of teams would be willing to offer a big trade package for Harden, and it’s hard to blame them.
