The Chicago Bears were able to get their guy this offseason when they drafted former Heisman winner Caleb Williams with the No. 1 overall pick.
The former USC quarterback is looking to make the Bears contenders again while also becoming one of the best players in the history of the franchise.
Even with the high hopes of the organization and the fan base around Williams, ESPN’s Kimberly A. Martin believes there needs to be some patience with him too.
“When you have high expectations, you also need to have some patience,” Martin recently said on Get Up.
“Losing in college, way different than losing in the NFL. … This is about Caleb’s story with the Chicago Bears. … When you have high expectations, you also need to have some patience.”

Martin also referenced how players such as Williams are used to winning in college and not having to worry about the livelihoods of others.
When you are selected No. 1 overall by a team that hasn’t won the Super Bowl since 1985, the expectations are going to be sky-high.
But again, this Bears team has made the playoffs just twice in the last 13 seasons.
This isn’t like Williams is going to be sitting behind Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay for three years before taking over in a much easier situation.
Williams has to play right now and get results right now, but the team and the fan base must realize that he is still a rookie and it could be a bit of an uphill climb in the beginning.
However, with the weapons he has and with his skill set, Williams has a lot of potential in the Windy City to possibly deliver in a big way down the road.
