The Kansas City Chiefs made it to the playoffs, but they don’t look as convincing as they once did.
They did manage to finish the season strong, yet people are still skeptical after watching them struggle all season.
Notably, that includes NFL analyst Craig Carton, who doesn’t believe they got any better throughout the course of the year.
Talking on The Carton Show, Carton explained that people seemed to believe and hope that they were going to flip the switch at any given moment and go back to being the same dominant team they once were.
He stated that it’s fair to think that the Chiefs were ‘bored’ in October and would turn the page in December, as they’ve been there and done that way too many times, so they know what it takes to go the distance:
“I don’t believe in Kansas City at all. It never got better. There wasn’t a single game you could look at in the last two months and say Kansas City got right,” Carton said.

However, he never saw them getting rid of their season-long woes, such as missed assignments, drops, bad play-calling, or even bad throws.
Of course, Carton still thinks they’re capable of beating anybody on any given night because they have Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and Andy Reid, but he doesn’t see any reason to believe the Chiefs got any better this year.
This team doesn’t have a lot of talent in the wide receiver room, and frustration was more than evident throughout the course of the season.
Nevertheless, we’re still talking about the reigning Super Bowl champions, so they must not be overlooked, even if they don’t look as dominant as they looked last season.
