The Los Angeles Lakers were briefly ahead of the Denver Nuggets on Saturday night but they ultimately lost Game 1 against the reigning champions.

During the game, LeBron James and Anthony Davis scored a collective 59 points, 20 rebounds, and 13 assists, while the rest of the team only put up 44 points, 20 rebounds, and 9 assists.

This has led many people to say that James and Davis didn’t get enough support during the game.

Craig Carton has had enough of that excuse.

On his show Monday morning, he said that the lack of help around James is something that is spoken about again and again and he’s tired of it.

“There’s never enough talent around LeBron James,” Carton said.

Carton said that James has complained about a lack of help during his NBA career, including during his time with the Miami Heat.

But he doesn’t want to hear it anymore and doesn’t think it’s a credible excuse.

However, many analysts noted that the rest of the Lakers roster didn’t show up during Saturday’s game.

Supporting stars like D’Angelo Russell, Austin Reaves, and Rui Hachimura didn’t contribute as they usually do.

This put the weight of the team on James and Davis’ massive shoulders.

And even though they played very well throughout the game, it wasn’t enough to match Denver’s deep roster.

If the Lakers are going to make this series competitive, other players aside from James and Davis will need to play a lot better.

Carton might be tired of hearing this excuse from James and his supporters but there is no doubt that the rest of the Lakers didn’t help him on Saturday.
