The AFC South is currently the division of the Houston Texans.
After a historic rookie season from Pro Bowl quarterback C.J. Stroud and a fantastic coaching job done by DeMeco Ryans, Houston took the division from the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Jacksonville is looking to take the AFC South back in 2024, and Pro Bowl quarterback Trevor Lawrence will have a lot to do with that.
Fox Sports’s Craig Carton believes this year is a prove-it year for Lawrence.
“I don’t know what Trevor Lawrence is anymore…The argument can no longer be made that Trevor Lawrence is the best QB in the division,” Carton said recently on The Carton Show.
“The argument can no longer be made that Trevor Lawrence is the best QB in the division — he’s not, C.J. Stroud is — or that the Jags are the best team in the division — they’re not, the Texans are.”

The Jaguars were sitting at a record of 8-3 after 11 games into the season before things fell apart for them.
Lawrence, who played hurt, ended up turning the ball over a total of 23 times en route to guiding his team to a non-playoff record of 9-8.
Now, this team is no longer the hotshot team in the division with the rise of the Texans.
It is going to be up to Lawrence, who just signed a massive five-year extension with the team this offseason, to prove that he can be an elite-level quarterback.
The former national champion has guided the Jaguars to back-to-back winning seasons for the first time in two decades.
But after the way last season ended and with what his team’s division rival has done recently, he is going to have to play a lot better this year.
If he doesn’t, the question will become whether or not the Jaguars made a mistake in paying him.
