After passing on the opportunity to return to the Los Angeles Clippers, which seemed to make him a low-ball offer, Paul George chose to sign with the Philadelphia 76ers, who targeted him the minute NBA free agency started this summer.
Following five seasons of the Clippers being unable to live up to title-contending aspirations, George hopes to start fresh while playing alongside two hungry stars in Philadelphia: Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey.
Although the 76ers were already considered a force to be reckoned with in the Eastern Conference with this two-headed monster leading the way, they should be able to take it to another level with the arrival of George, who is one of the best two-way players in the league.
With this being a potential game-changing move for Philadelphia, Zach Lowe of ESPN claims it is time for George and Embiid to reach their true potential, via NBA on ESPN.
“It’s time to actually take the step we’ve been waiting for both Paul George and Embiid to take for quite a while now,” Lowe said.

Along with bringing in George, arguably the biggest offseason move of any potential title contender in the league, the 76ers were able to bring back Kelly Oubre Jr., and sign Caleb Martin and Andre Drummond while also drafting Jared McCain.
Although more players likely need to be added over the course of the remaining offseason, Philadelphia has a very solid core and should be able to contend in the East next season and for the next few years.
