The Dallas Cowboys are currently projected to spend the least amount of cash among NFL teams this season and for the next couple of years.
That’s not what one would expect from the most valuable franchise, not only in the National Football League but in all of sports.
This offseason, the Cowboys have been either unable or unwilling to pay their three best players.
Micah Parsons, Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb all want to get paid, with the latter even holding out of training camp.
That’s why NFL analyst Kimberley Martin wasn’t buying any of the compliments Deion Sanders recently had for Jerry Jones.
Talking on ESPN’s “First Take,” she claimed that all of her sources within the NFL had no clue what Jones was doing with the team.
“When I talk to people in the NFL, no one has any idea what the Cowboys are doing,” Martin said. “… They are perennial underachievers.”

She also questioned the way Jones does business and takes care of his players.
Martin pointed out that the Cowboys haven’t been relevant — Super Bowl-wise — in almost three decades, and that’s all on Jones.
The team doesn’t seem to have a plan or direction whatsoever, and the controversial owner simply doesn’t look committed to winning.
The Cowboys are a money-making machine, and talking about them will guarantee TV ratings.
However, the idea that “all publicity is good publicity” doesn’t apply to everything, and definitely not to this case.
Though everybody’s always talking about the Cowboys, it’s lately been either with skepticism, mockery or concern, and that’s just not what one would expect from a once-great franchise that still goes by the “America’s Team” moniker.
