The 2023 NFL Season wasn’t the kindest to the Washington Commanders.
Despite having some optimism heading into the year, the Commanders ended up having a rocky campaign, ending the season tied for the second-worst record in the NFL.
This led the front office to move on from Ron Rivera, leaving an opening for their head coaching gig.
After conducting several interviews, they landed on former Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator, Dan Quinn.
While Quinn was popular around the Dallas area, and many people thought he was a big reason for their improved defense this year, this hire has been a head-scratcher for many fans and analysts.
Craig Carton believes this was not in the team’s best interest, saying, “The Commanders hired Dan Quinn and they’re gonna lose 14 games next year.”

While they have filled the hole at head coach, the Commanders still have a lot of questions to answer as an organization.
They are entering their first full season with a new ownership group, and it is unknown what level of involvement they will have in the decision-making process.
The Commanders also hold the No. 2 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, a pick that could sway their organization for the foreseeable future.
Many believe the Commanders should draft a quarterback in this spot, starting over at the position under their new regime with Quinn.
It will be interesting to see how it all shakes out, and if Carton’s prediction of a 14-loss season comes to fruition for this team with an up-and-down history.
