For years, people debated whether Tom Brady was the greatest player in NFL history.
One by one, the seven-time Super Bowl champion silenced all the doubters, and while he might not be the most talented player ever, he definitely has a strong case for being the best — or at least the most accomplished.
But every reign eventually comes to an end, and it might not be long before Brady’s time at the top ends as well.
According to former NFL player-turned-analyst Damien Woody, there’s a big chance that Patrick Mahomes ends up having a similar — if not better — career.
Woody explains that Mahomes has already done more than enough to be considered a Hall of Famer, adding that he’s playing with an elite coach like Andy Reid, and for a solid organization like the Kansas City Chiefs.

Truth be told, it seems like Mahomes is the only player who could even consider coming close to Brady in terms of accolades and championships.
The AFC is as good as it’ll ever be, and there’s no shortage of competition at the top of the league right now.
Guys like Josh Allen and Joe Burrow will make it tough for Mahomes to reach the Super Bowl every single year.
But Mahomes is durable, and there’s no reason to think he couldn’t play for as long as Brady did.
Still, even if Mahomes wins the same — or more — Super Bowls, there’s one thing he will never be able to brag about, which is beating Brady in the Super Bowl.
