For months, NBA analysts and fans debated the possibility of Paul George joining the Philadelphia 76ers.
His situation with the Los Angeles Clippers made people feel like it was a matter of time before they put an end to that partnership, and there were countless reports about Daryl Morey’s interest in his services.
It didn’t take long before those rumors became a reality, and George is now a Sixer.
Considering that, NBA analyst Jason Timpf claimed that people shouldn’t even overthink this move, adding that George makes the Sixers significantly better right off the jump (via The Volume).

Timpf stated that George gives the team a whole new dimension of shot-making ability.
He said that George has never played with a screen-and-roll man of Joel Embiid’s caliber, meaning that any player who’s big enough to handle Embiid won’t be quick enough to handle George and vice versa.
He also believes that he’s going to benefit significantly from Embiid’s screens, as he can’t beat other players off the dribble as he used to, so he’s now going to have plenty of space to operate from the mid-range game.
Timpf added that the Sixers could also rely on a different type of scorer, as Tyrese Maxey does most of his damage either going downhill at full speed or pulling up from beyond the arc.
The Sixers added one of the best two-way players in the league, and they’re a significantly better team today than they were at the beginning of the offseason.
