The NFL Draft is rapidly approaching, and it is one of the most anticipated over the past decade.
Several positional groups are said to have blue-chip, NFL-ready prospects, which include quarterback, wide receiver, offensive line, and defensive backs.
While it might be a big year for those positions, this year’s crop of running backs is less notable than the past few years.
There aren’t many players that stick out among the class, but one player is making a big surge, at least in the eyes of analyst Dane Brugler.
He commented on Kentucky’s Ray Davis, indicating he not only has a great story but his on-field efforts are also impressive.
Brugler said, “He is also a really talented back who will make an impact as an NFL rookie.”
#Kentucky RB Ray Davis has one of the best backstories in the draft class (read @zkeefer‘s story). But he is also a really talented back who will make an impact as an NFL rookie.

Davis averaged 5.7 yards per carry in his final season with Kentucky, a sign that he is an efficient back when given adequate opportunity.
He was this efficient with 199 carries on the season, meaning that he was able to sustain his production throughout the course of the season.
Davis wasn’t just an effective rusher; he also showed decent receiving chops during his one year at Kentucky.
He had 33 receptions last season, which totaled 323 yards and seven touchdowns, averaging 9.8 yards per reception.
With this in mind, Davis might just find himself on an NFL roster, as a pass-catching back is something that many teams are searching for.
