Even though they play in a very competitive AFC East Division, and the AFC is stacked with talent now, the New York Jets still have everything going on for them this season.
They were already up and coming and knocked on the door of postseason contention last season, and they added one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time to that core.
That’s why Marcus Spears believes it’s now on Robert Saleh to get the job done.
In his latest appearance on ESPN’s “First Take,” Spears elaborated on how the head coach is under way more pressure than the quarterback, stating that people will rally to put the blame on him if the Jets fail to reach their potential in 2023.

Almost every single team would give up a ton to have a guy like Aaron Rodgers leading their offense, but you have to be careful what you wish for at times.
Saleh has gotten plenty of praise for how he’s put this defense together and how the Jets have rapidly turned their losing culture around.
But from getting better to being a legit Super Bowl contender, that’s a whole different story.
The front office has gone to great lengths to put the team in a position to succeed, putting together a stacked roster on both ends of the field.
Rodgers is already a Super Bowl champion, a marquee name in football history, and a future first-ballot Hall of Famer, so he definitely has less to lose and at stake than Saleh at this point in his career.
