Only one team sitting outside of the playoff picture in the Western Conference has yet to be eliminated from playoff contention, with the Houston Rockets turning things around while being the hottest team in the league with 10 straight wins and a chance to sneak into the Play-In Tournament.

Ironically enough, the Rockets have gone on this incredible late-season run without arguably their best player on the floor, as versatile center Alperen Sengun has been on the mend with an ankle injury that is expected to keep him sidelined for the rest of the regular season.

Whether the Rockets make the postseason this year or not, Houston seems to be a team on the rise, with head coach Ime Udoka seemingly being the right choice to right the ship for this franchise.

According to Tim MacMahon of ESPN, the Rockets want to take a “big, big swing” in the trade market in order to upgrade the roster and believe that stars Alperen Sengun and Jalen Green might not be in Houston on a long-term basis via NBA Central.

“I don’t know if both Alperen Sengun and Jalen Green will be around long term,” MacMahon said.

This is an interesting development, especially since Sengun and Green are two players who have taken their game to another level this season, but that also makes them attractive trade chips.

With the Rockets having so much success without Sengun, he might be the more likely of the two to be moved, as it could be argued they play better without him, even though he’s incredibly talented.
