A lot of Team USA fans were incredibly nervous after a recent close win over South Sudan in a warmup game before the Olympics.
If the Americans didn’t get it together in the second half of that game, they would have lost even though they were heavy favorites to win.
On FOX Sports Radio, Martin Weiss strongly criticized the coaching of Steve Kerr during recent exhibition games.
He plainly said that Devin Booker and Joel Embiid shouldn’t be in the starting lineup for Team USA and that the only stars who need to have guaranteed spots in the starting five are LeBron James and Steph Curry.
He gave a big shout-out to Derrick White, Anthony Edwards, Anthony Davis, Bam Adebayo, and Jayson Tatum, who have been part of the second unit, and suggested that Edwards and Davis move up to the starting lineup.
“This team should wipe the floor with everybody, but they may not because of these damn rotations!”

Weiss doesn’t understand why Kerr is sticking with his current rotations, making little adjustments from game to game.
He felt that the starting five got Team USA into very serious trouble in the game against South Sudan, but it was the bench players who pulled them out of their hole.
He was flabbergasted by Kerr’s resistance to making changes.
Of course, some would argue that this is what these warmup games are all about.
It’s a chance for Kerr and his coaching staff to get a good look at the team before the Olympics actually begin.
They may be plotting some adjustments for the games ahead.
Therefore, Weiss might get his wish and changes could be coming when the Olympics kick off in a few days.
