The Golden State Warriors made a rather bold move.

Just hours after Mike Dunleavy Jr. went on record to say that he wanted Jordan Poole to stay there for the long run, the new GM traded him to the Washington Wizards.

However, as bizarre as it may have seemed at first, NBA analyst Craig Carton actually believes it was an obvious move for the Dubs.

Carton states that the Warriors knew it was either keeping Draymond Green or keeping Poole and that now that the latter is gone, they’ve secured themselves their leader and a guy that everybody in that locker room would have to respect, whether they like him or not.

He says that he doesn’t necessarily believe they’re a better basketball team without Poole, but the chemistry in the locker room should definitely improve.

Truth be told, it felt more like Poole had played himself out of the team.

He was careless and erratic, snubbed his veterans, called out coach Steve Kerr, and it was evident that he wasn’t happy with his role, and that went beyond his altercation with Green or how poorly he played in the playoffs.

Then again, it’s still kind of bizarre to see that the Warriors chose Chris Paul out of all players to trade for.

His expiring contract makes sense from a financial standpoint, but it’s hard to think of a player less suited for their system than him, especially at this point in his career and after all they’ve been through.
