The Jacksonville Jaguars will sign Trevor Lawrence to a big-money extension.
Even if they traded for Mac Jones, it’s a no-brainer decision for them.
They must double down on him after what they’ve already given him, especially after watching him two years ago in his first season under Doug Pederson.
Nonetheless, that doesn’t mean he’s a top-tier quarterback by any means.
If anything, people should finally realize that he’s not as talented as we originally thought.
At least, that’s how NFL analyst Greg Cosell thinks.
Talking on the “Ross Tucker Podcast,” Cosell argued that Lawrence was a tier above the so-called system quarterbacks and clearly had some things going on for him.
“We need to lower the expectations for what he is…he is not really at that level talent-wise…”@GregCosell breaks down what Jags QB Trevor Lawrence is and isn’t on latest @RossTuckerPod: pic.twitter.com/131t3gkmv8

However, he’s not the generational talent some thought he was, and the sooner people lower their expectations about him, the better.
Lawrence looked like the next superstar when he was in college.
He had won at every level, and some compared him to Peyton Manning.
The media gave him a pass for his subpar rookie season, blaming Urban Meyer and his questionable management for it.
Then, when it seemed like he had gotten things together, he regressed after a breakout season.
This will be a make-or-break campaign for the former No. 1 pick, and we’ll finally get to see whether his first season with Pederson was a fluke or the real deal.
