After wiping the floor with the competition in the Western Conference during the NBA playoffs and smoking the Miami Heat in five games during the NBA Finals, the Denver Nuggets put the league on notice that a dynasty could be brewing in the Mile High City.
Obviously, the Nuggets have a long way to go before being called a dynasty in the same way it took years for the Golden State Warriors to get there, but Denver’s talent and sustainability as a perennial title contender seem apparent.
Superstar Nikola Jokic has shown no signs of slowing down as the face of the franchise as he continues to do some incredible things on the basketball court while filling up the stat sheet on a nightly basis.
On Sunday, Jokic put on a show once again as he put up video-game-like numbers against the Cleveland Cavaliers at Ball Arena in Denver, as the two-time NBA MVP had another triple-double with 26 points, 18 rebounds, and 16 assists.
Although some have started to doubt the Nuggets’ chances of repeating as NBA champions, Bill Simmons of The Ringer cautioned against doubting this team after what they did to the Cavaliers on Sunday.
“If you’re thinking about picking against Denver in the West, maybe take a peek at this Cleveland game today,” he tweeted.

The Nuggets proceeded to beat the Cavaliers in Denver by 29 points, which is a statement considering Cleveland is currently in the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference behind the New York Knicks, Milwaukee Bucks, and Boston Celtics.
Even though the Nuggets are playing a high level of basketball at the right time once again, there’s no telling what can happen in the postseason, but it seems as though Denver will be tough to beat once again come playoff time.
