The San Diego Padres have been one of the most disappointing teams in baseball this season.

They have been very active over the last year by landing Juan Soto at the trade deadline and Xander Bogaerts in free agency.

Yet the results on the field have not lived up to the hype off of it.

The Padres have not been good this season and that is something not many people saw coming.

They have a record of 37-42 and are in fourth place in the NL West.

One reason for their struggles appears to be a lack of chemistry amongst the team.

According to Dan Clark, tensions in the Padres clubhouse have escalated during their recent losing skid.

Tensions in the Padres clubhouse are rumoured to have escalated even further last night after yet another poor performance. Some very open conversations followed. Air was cleared, but many feel the tension remains. Team is in complete disarray. A huge two weeks ahead before ASG.

The Padres are coming off a series loss to the Washington Nationals.

They then dropped the first game to the Pittsburgh Pirates on Tuesday.

It appears the season is slipping away from the Padres as they sit 10.5 games out of first place in the NL West.

Also, they are 7.5 games out of a Wild Card spot.

For a team that has four perennial All-Stars in their lineup, they should not be playing this poorly.

It will be interesting to see what the Padres decide to do at the trade deadline.

They could choose to be buyers and make a second-half push or be sellers and look toward next season.

With the veterans on their team, being sellers is something they want no part of.

The Padres need to start playing better so they can incentivize the front office to acquire more help over the next month.
