Analyst Shares Concerns About Bengals Without Joe Burrow

The Cincinnati Bengals dodged a huge bullet.

Joe Burrow ‘only’ suffered a calf injury, and there have been little-to-no updates regarding his situation.

The team has made it loud and clear that he’s going to be fine for the season opener, yet he will more than likely not participate in the remainder of the training camp.

He needs several weeks to get back to full strength, and some question his ability to be out there on the field for the season opener.

That includes NFL analyst Craig Carton, who recently said that even though the fans held their breath collectively by knowing that he didn’t suffer a major injury, it’s hard to believe he’s going to be 100% by the first week of the season.

Carton added that Bengals fans should be worried because all the teams in their division got better, and it’s not like they’re going to have an easy schedule by any means.

Muscular injuries tend to linger, and even a young player like Burrow could have a hard time shaking this off if he’s rushed back to the field.

Others speculate that he’s not even going to consider setting foot on the gridiron ever again unless he gets a contract extension first, putting more pressure on the organization to get a deal done sooner rather than later.

One can never be too cautious with a franchise cornerstone like him, especially considering he already suffered a season-ending injury, so it’ll be interesting to see how the Bengals deal with this situation in the next couple of weeks.
