The Los Angeles Lakers missed a huge chance to go up 2-0 in their first-round series versus the Memphis Grizzlies.

The Grizzlies out-hustled them on both ends of the floor, and Xavier Tillman and Jaren Jackson Jr. did an incredible job of keeping Anthony Davis out of rhythm.

That’s why former NBA player Tim Legler believes Davis should be embarrassed after his performance.

Davis scored just 13 points on 14 shots, adding nine boards, three assists, and five blocks.

However, Legler thinks he didn’t show any sort of sense of urgency, which is why the Grizzlies were able to steamroll past him.

Notably, this isn’t the first time that Davis has put up a performance like this for the Lakers.

His body language is off at times when things aren’t going their way, and it doesn’t feel like he’s aggressive enough.

Davis is the second-best player on his team, and fans demand nothing but greatness from him, and rightfully so.

He’s one of the most impactful two-way players in the league, and he’s virtually unstoppable when he gets into the zone and is looking to make a statement.

At least the Lakers left Memphis with one game under their belt and will now have home-court advantage for the remainder of the series.

And while they shouldn’t be satisfied or comfortable against such a gritty team, they still control their own destiny.

Davis doesn’t usually string bad performances together, so Legler and Lakers fans should definitely expect a much better performance now that his team will be back at home.
