The Pittsburgh Steelers have finally responded to the fans’ prayers and fired OC Matt Canada.

It was the first time that the Steelers made a decision like this in-season since 1941, so you know the results were far from what they expected.

It’s not usual to see a franchise like this making such a big move, and it may not have been easy for Mike Tomlin, given his relationship with Canada.

With that in mind, former Steelers star Willie Colon took to “The Carton Show” to state that the Steelers should consider hiring Byron Leftwich as their new OC.

Colon claimed that Leftwich already knows what it’s like to be a Steeler and what Tomlin and the organization are all about, not to mention the fact that he literally offered himself for the job quite a while ago.

Leftwich found plenty of success during his days with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and while Kenny Pickett is no Tom Brady, he’d do an excellent job of bringing some of that explosiveness to this team.

Also, with Mike Evans set to become a free agent and reportedly considering all his options, perhaps a reunion with his former OC could make him lean toward finishing his career with the Steel Curtain.

Whatever the case, it’s hard to envision anyone doing a worse job of leading this offense going forward.
